laissez le bon temps roulez

Oh yes, my friends, Mardi Gras Season has officially begun. Good times are to be had for all from now until Ash Wednesday ( Feb. 25th this year!) . And even though we are not French and not Catholic.... you know the Lindbloms cannot resist a party, especially one that lasts for weeks.
Thanks to our Mom, our home had a party going on ALL THE TIME! Even though everyone has a home of their own now, and some of us have spouses and some of us have kids too, the parties just keep comin. Only difference is we have alot more people now. What is there to party about? Here are just a few highlights from 2008:

New Years - We rocked the house with a Totally Awesome '80's Bash! Do not think for one minute that my hair forgot how to do bangs to heaven! Here are Phil and Melissa who were just youngins through the best decade ever. Love the Members Only jacket!

Our oldest sis Wendi ushered in her 4th decade at midnight. Yes, Mom even knew how to be the life of the party way back in the 60's!!!

Mardi Gras- our neighbors think we are crazy but, we even have our own parade! Floats and all where we throw beads and all kinds of great Mardi Gras treats while the kids scream " Hey Mister! Throw me somethin!" REd Beans and Rice, Jambalaya and Gumbo, Oh mY!

Easter- egg hunt, easter crafts, resurrection rolls, getting totally decked out for Easter Sunday services, CHOCOLATE BUNNIES!!!!

Holy Crap! Chino turned 45 this year. When I first met Chino, the man literally danced everywhere. He is a FREAK on the dance floor... there was never a question in my mind if he would fit into my family.

No, this is not his actual yearbook photo. Could be, though. He did wear a powder blue tux to prom.
And just because there are not many excuses to party in August... Mom and Dad decided to go on a mission so we could have a farewell party for them.. Aren't they the most thoughtful parents ever? The Grandkids were ALOT more excited than the adult children.
One party is never enough for Halloween.... the Dillard's never disappoint and this year Jo and I organized a block party trunk or treat. Good times.

Even when one of the sisters is in labor... we cannot resist whooping it up. Congrats to Sean and Julia on the birth of their adorable son Samuel.
One thing you can be sure of.. when you party w/the Lindbloms there will be plenty of REALLY GOOD FOOD around. WE all love to eat. Apparantly, it is genetic, as evidenced in this amazingly cute little guy who joined Tammie and Ryan's family in late October.
The ultimate event of coarse is Thanksgiving where we pretty much eat ourselves into Turkey comas and fight for any comfy place to lay down and sleep it off.

Sometimes, the partying gets out of hand... As mom used to say, " It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye." or... shatters their ankle falling from their attic... perhaps you did not know that in our family we don't do anything half way. If the performance does not dazzle the crowd, you aint workin hard enough. Congrats on a job well done, Wendi!

Then.... it's party party party from Dec. 1st all the way through to Dec. 31st with lots of food, family, friends, and noise. ( I will have to post some of those pics later!)
So.... any of you that don't get enough of the good times... come hang out with our family. If there isn't a special occasion or holiday, wait til Sunday night and follow the noise to either Jo's, Wendi's or my house. We'd love to party with you!!!

We may just stop by. That picture of Chino made my eyes water. Not sure if they are tears of joy or sorrow.
