In a large stately building in Washington DC
flanked by the founding fathers
are the documents that led to the forging of a new nation.
years have yellowed their paper and faded the ink
but the courage, bravery, patriotism and faith they represent
remain as bright in my mind and in my heart
as the day they were written.
