For the first time EVER, Arizona is about to have a yearlong flu season. What does that mean?
" I think we are going to get walloped," said Dr. Bob England, Maricopa County's public-health director, who estimated that as many as one in four Arizona residents will fall ill."
The health department expects the number of illness to triple during our normal flu season!!
What is the most common strain they are seeing? H1N1 (AKA Swine Flu) 762 cases in AZ alone.
What should this motivate you to do?
- be VIGILENT in your good health practices- including washing hands RELIGIOUSLY!
- start devising contingency plans now, in case your family falls ill, regarding work, school and day-care issues.
- STAY HOME IF YOU ARE ILL!
- Plan to care for ill family members at home,. Ensure you have over the counter medications and plenty of fluids well stocked.

Pandemic Is Declared
On June 11, 2009, the World Health Organization (WHO) raised the worldwide pandemic alert level to Phase 6 in response to the ongoing global spread of the novel influenza A (H1N1) virus. A Phase 6 designation indicates that a global pandemic is underway.
